PROS
- Offers a contradiction to typical OCD-type puzzle games
- Has nerd-culture esoteric humour
CONS
- You are forced to replay certain levels to progress
- The graphics are cheap and nasty looking
Dude, Stop offers you tens of puzzles and tasks that you must both complete and not complete. The object is to sometimes complete a puzzle or task, and to sometimes find ways around a task, such as by purposely failing to do what is asked of you.
Try to break the game rather than complete it
Dude, Stop asks you to take on as many tasks and puzzles as you can, and it asks that you try to find a way to avoid a puzzle or task. The object is to complete or not complete the tasks in order to break the game. You are looking for cheats and ways to get around the rules of a puzzle. Trying to manipulate, trick or tamper with a puzzle is the object of the game. The graphics are a 2D and pixilated. The graphics are flat and ugly, but they try to make up for it with an odd story and forced nerd humour.
An average puzzle game with an uncommon idea
Dude, Stop is not a terrible game, but hardcore gamers are going to complete it and touch every level within two hours. Breaking the game is not difficult, and the game has an annoying habit of slowing the process down to make gameplay last longer. Nevertheless, the premise of having to “not” complete a puzzle or task as per its instructions is fairly uncommon and was worthy of development; it is just a shame that the execution was not better and more polished.
